Limited Production Run Philosophy

I have always subscribed to the philosophy that bespoke, truly custom, high performance musical instruments are bestowed with the same attributes as fine art and should be produced only in limited production runs. I view the custom design and fabrication of ultra high performance music & audio electronic instruments as a creative endeavor rather than a “manufacturing” endeavor. Because of that, viewing the work as a commodity isn’t possible for me. Every aspect of a build is the result of meticulous design, planning, fabrication, and finalization resulting in a coherent instrument at the end of that process. An instrument is only made available once its performance completely pleases my senses and I feel that it’s maximized with respect to itself.

I strive to offer the very best amplifiers I’m capable of as opportunity, time & materials dictate. In fact, the availability of NOS tubes, Transformers, Passive Components, Chassis, etc. set design constraints on each build. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I find that working within limiting constraints often presents a challenge worthy of accepting.

I believe that is precisely how all great art is achieved.

To quote an old friend: “It’s been done before-but not by you.”
